Second week of school swimming for the grade 3 offspring.
Four days a week; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.
Note: Not on Wednesday
It’s 10pm on Wednesday evening. His last swim was 36 hours ago. He has swimming tomorrow. In 12 hours time.
My eight year old has just informed me that his bathers – board shorts – are ripped. We discuss how badly. I could look. But it’s cold and dark outside where his bathers are, hanging on the line.
(Yes, I did wash them and hang them on the line. But didn’t notice any rip. This is not to say there’s not one, just I didn’t notice it.)
Sad, neglected first born has only one pair. Second child has about 5 pair. But he has no bum, and, technically, they’re “too small” for him. No way they’ll fit 8 year old.
I’m sure we’ll be fine. The tear doesn’t sound that bad, and we organised that I will go and get a new pair tomorrow morning, in time for formal swimming lessons in the afternoon, and the current pair will be fine for his school lesson.
Still, pick up yesterday afternoon would have been a more appropriate time to tell me. I would have had time to shoe shop then as well.
